Carriages and Carriage Parts - Rated by the fork carriage hoisting capacity, there are four sizes of hook type fork carriages. The hook type blade carriages have been standardized.
The carriage bar spacing for Class 1 is something like thirteen inches and the Class 1 carriage is rated to carry loads up to 2000lbs. The Class 2 carriage is rated to carry cargo as much as 5,500lbs with carriage bar spacing of sixteen inches. Class III carriages are rated for cargo as much as 10,000 lbs. The carriage bar spacing for this class is twenty inches. Class IV carriages are rated for loads up to 15,500 lbs. The carriage bar spacing for this capacity is 25 inches.
Pin mounted blades vary by the amount of offset between the blade and the fork eye. Some manufacturers would differ the carriages for pin type tines. Carriage capacity will be established by the carriage pin size and by the blade size.
